Jefferson Younger is currently Vice President of Business Development for Starworks Interactive which is a virtual campus software development firm based out of Miami, Florida. Jeff is also currently involved with several organizations that support students in their pursuits for higher learning and post baccalaureate degrees. As a technology consultant for the Dept. of Education Jefferson delivers training & IT solutions for Federal TRIO Programs across the United States.

Prior to taking a leading role at Starworks Interactive, Mr. Younger worked for Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington as a business development manager. He held several key positions during his time with Microsoft, with his final and most pivotal position being Microsoft’s NSP (Network Service Providers) ASP.NET Product Manager. Jeff is a seasoned executive with a record of accomplishment in contributing to the revenue growth of enterprise services and software ventures. He frequently works with organizations and groups to improve effectiveness and achieve desired outcomes in the public and private sectors. Jefferson is uniquely talented at building web communities focused at acquiring, training and driving adoption in customer based scenarios. Jefferson is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

 

Among other things, Dean is a driven community activist and impassioned advocate, who builds alliances with everyone; fights for issues that affect our quality of life, and makes communities stronger. Dean has been involved in the community in many different ways. He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and currently holds the office of Asst. Dir of Guide Right for his local chapter and currently serves as the Assistance Chairperson of the STEM / STEAM Initiative for the Nation Guide Right Committee of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Dean currently serves on the board of the Richardson Plano Guide Right Foundation as Parliamentarian. Dean currently sits on the board of the Center for Student Professional Development at Grambling State University – College of Business. Dean has held the office of Polemarch and Vice Polemarch while residing in Bermuda. Dean has actively been and is currently involved in Youth Mentorship programs through the following organizations: Guide Right Foundation (current - Kappa League – Frisco, TX), Kappa Kamp, Big Brothers & Big Sister (past service -Bermuda Chapter), and Black Data Processors Association (current Dallas Chapter) Blacks at Microsoft (current BAM Dallas & National Chapters).

 

In his early years of his career, Dean served in several roles including Sales Engineer, Sales Director, Business Development Manager / Consultant, and Engagement Manager. Dean has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences around the world including the US, Caribbean, South Africa and Bermuda. Mr. Jones has spoken at the Women of Color Conference as a Panelist: Topic- Social Media Trends, Predictions, and Security Challenges that Impact Your Work and Life, Tech Panelist Bayou Classic: Microsoft Business Direction and Corporate Culture, Social Networking Trends, Security and Hiring Practices and many others.

 

Dean earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at Grambling State University and has taken executive management programs in the business programs of Microsoft Corporation, Marriott Corporation, Cisco Systems Inc. and IBM.
